ohmage

ohmage is an open-source participatory sensing technology platform. It supports expressive project authoring; mobile phone-based data capture through both inquiry-based surveys and automated data capture as well as temporally and/or spatially triggered reminders, data visualization and real-time feedback; privacy respecting data management; and extensible data exploration. All captured data are automatically timestamped, geocoded and uploaded for analysis and visualization.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) supports geographical data analysis.  GIS programs can capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present spatial data.  This type of data analysis is particularly useful for environmental, demographic, suitability and transportation-related research.

Omeka is designed to support the collection of qualitative data, affirming rich narratives and facilitating public display.

Fusion Tables is an experimental data application that allows the collection and visualization of data.  Fusion tables supports the integration of diverse data sets.
